Unlike analog impressions that use a mouthful of gooey impression paste, this process is faster and more comfortable for patients. In addition, it is a more accurate process that doesn’t run the risk of being distorted by a small amount of saliva in the mouth or by a mistake made by a technician.
The resulting crown is fastened to the damaged tooth, and your dentist will provide instructions for care and maintenance. Typically, same-day crowns last longer than traditional crowns, but you’ll need to maintain proper oral hygiene practices and avoid putting too much pressure on the restored tooth.
